The HVAC tech said it was a bad idea to work on your own HVAC system
It wasn’t too long ago when I was able to repair the window A/C unit in my home.
I actually watched a few DIY window A/C unit repair videos and it wasn’t overly complicated.
I honestly thought I would be able to fix my central HVAC system as well when it quit working. The thing is, it was way more challenging compared to the window A/C unit fix. The window A/C unit is just a small machine, but the central HVAC is entirely advanced and complicated. There is a reason why these HVAC techs go to school to learn this stuff. It’s not something that you are able to grasp within a short period of time, you really have to study and learn all the components and how everything works with the air pressure and everything. Well, after trying to learn everything I could about the central HVAC system, I decided it was way too advanced for me. I ended up calling the HVAC company and had an HVAC technician over to my house. I even laughed and told him how I was trying to figure out how to fix everything on my own. He told me it’s a good thing I didn’t try to work on the central HVAC myself because it would have voided the warranty. Also he said that a lot of people get the same thought in their head that they can take on the repair, but they end up ruining everything. He even told me about a time when somebody messed up the HVAC so bad, it had to be replaced altogether.
