Contributing writer to newspaper about HVAC

For most of my life I had absolutely enjoyed writing.

I don’t think that I ever really considered how much I appreciate the task. However, looking back I have always been complimented for my ability to string words together all the way back to high school. The thing is, there are only certain topics that I enjoy writing about. I’m not the sort of person who can be given a research topic and enjoy the process of developing an article about it. Specifically, I am most interested in home repairs and heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions. This is probably because I come from a long line of handymen and heating, cooling, and air quality control specialists. I know everything there is to know about indoor air temperature control units, indoor air quality, and HVAC maintenance. I have been working in the heating, cooling, and ventilation field for over 20 years at this point. However, it was only a few years ago that I realized I could combine my interest in writing and heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment. It all started when the local newspaper put out a call for contributing authors to their DIY and home owning section. I wrote them a few quick pieces about the importance of properly maintaining and servicing your heating, cooling, and ventilation system every year. Apparently, readers really enjoyed my down to earth talk about DIY heating, cooling, and air quality control. The next thing I knew, the paper was asking me to be a regular contributor if I could keep providing excellent information on indoor air temperature control processes. I never thought I’d be an author.
