Last week, it was super hot in the office

Last week, it was so hot in my office building that I could barely stand it.

I work in a large office building downtown, and you would think that the people running the place would have the funds necessary to keep the air conditioner running. There are plenty of people paying their rent to the landlord. There are many businesses represented in these offices, but the climate control is simply awful. From what I’ve heard, there are issues throughout the entire building. Even the lobby is having difficulty with cooling equipment. Apparently, something major happened last week to cause the air conditioning throughout the entire building to simply stop working. Of course, this had to happen during a particularly hot week! The office building provided absolutely no shelter from the heat wave at that point. In fact, I think it was worse inside the building. I had a hard time convincing myself to go to work at all because of the oppressive heat. It’s just one of those things I had no choice but to do. I almost started crying at one point because of how hot it was. The air conditioner just wouldn’t seem to work and I’m not sure what the reason was. Management finally called out a commercial heating and air conditioner company and they started working quickly enough. However, parts needed to be ordered, so that’s what was causing the delay. Finally, the air conditioner was fixed at the tail end of the week, right around the end of my shift on Friday! At least I would be returning to an air-conditioned office.
