I love figuring stuff out
Whenever I am capable, I prefer servicing my own appliances and other machines all by myself.
I really enjoy learning new things by working with my hands.
I have always been that way, ever since I was a child. I would disassemble and reassemble the parts of various items to see how they work. This is the kind of challenge that I really relish and I continue to enjoy such projects. I apply this desire for new and interesting challenges in various parts of my life, including at work. I’ve even been able to repair my own car several times over the past few years. I thought it was awesome that I didn’t have to spend any money on costly repairs and was simply able to repair my vehicle myself. Most recently, I have been dealing with an HVAC problem. The weather lately had been getting hotter and hotter. I think I left my air conditioner running on too low of a temperature, and it started to have problems. It’s not that I don’t advocate having a professional HVAC technician deal with serious HVAC problems, it’s just that when it came to this particular problem, I really wanted to see if I could solve it myself. I watched videos online that explained various aspects of HVAC maintenance and I managed to figure out the problem and solve it all by myself! If it turned out to be any more complicated than it was, though, I would have certainly called out a professional HVAC technician.
