Three weeks with no luck, but that changed on Friday
Every Friday, my friends and I go to the poker room and play in a tournament that costs $50. There are usually 40 or 50 people that play in the tournament and the first place prize is about 6 or $800. With 50 people playing, the tournament director pays at least seven places. Over the last three weeks, I haven’t had much luck at all. I haven’t even cashed in any of the tournaments. I was going to skip the tournament last Friday, but my friends insisted that my luck was going to change. I really didn’t want to waste the $50, but I didn’t want to sit at home by myself either. All of my luck changed on Friday when I sat down at the table. I got so many good hands that I accumulated a massive stack of chips very quickly. I won the first place prize of $850 and I didn’t have to work very hard. I had a lot of straights and flushes. I used the money that I won to replace that broken AC unit in the garage. My friends and I played poker in the garage on Wednesdays, when the poker room is closed. When I won the fat stack of cash, I decided to replace the garage AC unit. When my friends came over a couple of days later, they were really impressed with the new cooling machine. The AC unit works extremely well, even with the garage door wide open all night long. I’m sure it’s expensive to run the machine, but I don’t care one bit.
