An obstacle to the show with my friend
I knew it was important to make a good impression on my boss, but I didn’t want to leave my acquaintance hanging
Ever since I started working at this heating and cooling business, I have been working a lot of overtime. I want the boss and owner to know I am serious. The guy said that I have a 30-day probationary period. Putting my best foot forward is important. I have been working six days a week, causing my girlfriend to complain I was working too much. She was aggravated because I wasn’t spending any time at home. I made plans to see a show with my friend. We were in the middle of dinner when I received a call from the owner and manager of the heating and A/C repair business. He asked if I could help out with an emergency repair. I didn’t want to say no, however I could see that my acquaintance was aggravated and I didn’t want him to go to the show alone. I had to make the right choice, or risk being alone for the rest of my life. I knew it was important to make a good impression on my boss, but I didn’t want to leave my acquaintance hanging. I told my boss that I was having dinner with a friend. I wanted to be able to help, but I already had plans. I gave to help the next afternoon if he still needed a few extra hands, but the boss needed someone immediately.
