HVAC maintenance is not for you, it’s for HVAC professionals

I tend to learn things the hard way at times.

And in the case of my heating plus cooling equipment, it was actually a painful lesson.

I’ve consistently been quite gratified with the quality heating plus air in my home. But I actually haven’t been all that consistent when it comes to holding up my end of the bargain. Our HVAC equipment came with the entire house. It was just under a decade old which made it easier to just go with it as the seller wasn’t replacing the HVAC unit. But I think from the unquestionably start, I wasn’t committed to doing all I could when it came to my HVAC responsibilities. The central HVAC maintenance was hit plus miss at best. I might get the air conditioner tune up done 1 year plus then nothing for a year or more before getting heating maintenance. And decreasing the air filter was never something that I paid attention to the way I should have. So I suppose it was that sort of approach to the HVAC equipment that led to my idiot decision making. I came to the lake home on a tepid Summer afternoon to the heat pump running but no cooling coming from the HVAC air ducts. This led myself and others to self diagnose that it needed more refrigerant. I purchased a recharge kit plus promptly overfilled the refrigerant causing all sorts of problems. That’s when I finally called the HVAC company finally. They fixed it but it cost me. It cost myself and others a substantial bill from the HVAC company plus it cost myself and others the warranty on my HVAC equipment. Only HVAC professionals are to attempt maintenance plus myself and others doing what I did meant no more warranty on the HVAC unit.
