Last week, it was so hot in the office
Last week, it was so hot in the office that I could barely stand it. I work in a huge office building downtown and you would think that the people who own it would make enough money from all of their tenants to be able to improve the indoor air quality in the building a little bit. I mean, there are hundreds of offices in this building, but the indoor air quality is simply awful. It’s the same way all over the building, from what I have heard. Even the lobby has issues with the heating and cooling system. Anyway, last week, something happened with the air conditioning system throughout the entire building and it just stopped working. Of course, this had to happen in the same week that the temperature outside was in the nineties! We were having a heat wave both inside and outside of the building at that point. Honestly, I had a really hard time even trying to talk myself into going to work at all last week because the indoor air quality was so bad. It was one of those things whereI just had to do it even though I did not want to. At one point, I almost started crying because it was so hot. The air conditioning system just would not work and I don’t know if it was because it was overloaded because of the heat or what. The building management called our commercial HVAC company and they came in and started working on it right away. However, there were certain things that they could not get to work because they had to order parts. It was a difficult week, for sure.
