It was super frigid at the dentist the other afternoon

The other afternoon when I visited the dentist, it was particularly cold in the waiting room.

I had to go to the dentist for some routine cleaning, but I was certainly in a hurry to get out of there as quickly as possible. There were plenty of other things I needed to take care of before I headed home for the day. It always seems like whenever you’re in a hurry, everything takes twice as long. I don’t know why it feels that way. Maybe it’s because you’re always watching the clock, but when it’s not so urgent, you’re not. It’s like that saying that a watched pot doesn’t boil. Well, it’s not like the dentist office is going to accommodate you with haste just because you’re impatient! Anyway, as I was sitting there in the waiting room, I was there long enough to realize that the air conditioner just kept running and running. I don’t know much about air conditioners, but I know enough to know that it shouldn’t be running constantly. It was getting colder and colder and I had to move to a different seat that was not directly below an air vent to get some respite. The longer I sat there, it seemed, the lower and lower the temperature got. I felt as if I was going to freeze to my seat when they finally called my name. Perhaps the freezing cold waiting room was a deliberate choice to kill germs or something, but whatever the case is, I’m pretty sure I may end up being sick after this visit!
