Holiday travels come with an HVAC reprieve
It’s not that I’m a immense humbug guy or anything enjoy that.
In fact, I certainly prefer Christmas now that I’m with my partner.
When I was younger, I wasn’t so hip to Christmas. I grew up in a lake house that the Christmas hype was way over the top. My mom was just sort of deranged when it came to Christmas. And being that there was no dad around, I was the a single who had to do all the work when it came to all the decorating. My mom sat in the HVAC heating & simply directed my efforts. That sort of left a bad taste in my mouth when it came to Christmas. But with my partner, I’ve enjoyed a more simple Christmas with decorations that I also have input on. Yet, there is a single part that I just could do without. That would be the traveling up north to visit her family. All of us live in a region where the heat pump hardly comes on for HVAC heating during the winter. So going north comes with a bunch of cold & thermostats that I have no control over. All of us normally go from a single place to another to visit everyone. Thankfully, this allows for an HVAC respite as the people I was with and I have to overnight a few times in a hotel. I make sure that it’s a single of the hotels that has the immense wall HVAC unit. Just having a night or 2 where the people I was with and I can have the sort of thermostat setting the people I was with and I want certainly helps. And those wall HVAC units are just the best at making quick work of heating up our room for the night.
