Don't try to repair your own HVAC unit
One thing you should never ever do is try to service your own central heating & a/c unit, then an acquaintance of mine tried doing this quite recently & it ended up costing him almost triple what it would have cost had he just called for central Heating & Air Conditioning maintenance at the start. He ended up totally wrecking his central heating & advanced a/c unit to the point where the local heating & a/c supplier could not repair it. He ended up having to invest in a brand new, high tech & honestly way overpriced central heat & cooling system unit. That was pretty messed up when the initial problem would have only cost him a few hundred bucks. The lesson of the story is that if you are not a certified & professional heat & cooling system technician, do not even try to fix your own Heating & Air Conditioning unit. It could end up wrecking your Heating & Air Conditioning system when all that was needed was some straight-forward central Heating & Air Conditioning maintenance. After hearing this story from my friend it made myself and others realize to never try this. And if this had not happened to my buddy, there is a good chance at some point when my own central heat & advanced a/c unit broke down that I would have tried to service it myself & end up in the same situation!
