Building a new house is harder than I thought
Building a new house is much harder than I thought it would be.
Everything is confusing, in my opinion. At this point, we are finally getting to the part of the building process where we are going to have to decide on what heating and cooling system we are going to use. I guess it’s a good thing in a way because it means that we are finally getting toward the end of the project. But it also means that we are getting to the part of the project where we don’t really know what we’re doing. Neither my wife nor I know a single thing about heating, ventilation, or air conditioning, and so we have to get input from a certified HVAC specialist. Honestly, if we didn’t have a certified HVAC specialist around to get ideas from, we wouldn’t ever be able to finish this house. Doing all of this is much harder than I thought it was going to be. I had no idea that it was going to be so difficult to build a house. There’s just so much that goes into it, and I really thought that it would be much easier. Trying to get the builders, the electricians, the plumbers, and the heating and air conditioning specialists lined up and scheduled to be in the house at the right time is just a nightmare. That doesn’t even include the painters, carpet installers, and finish carpenters. The whole thing is just a nightmare. I will be glad when the HVAC contractor shows up later on this week. I think I might end up hiring a general contractor too because this whole thing is just way too much for me to handle myself.
