Recovering from a shoulder injury

Recovering from a shoulder injury

I am currently in the process of recovering from my shoulder dislocation last night while doing some Heating and A/C replacements.

This is the second time it has happened over the past few months, and I am starting to get better at popping it back into place.

In the movies, they always make a big production of putting a dislocated bone back into place. I always thought you had to smash it against a wall, but that is just for the dramatic movie moment. In reality, I had to grab my arm with my other hand over my head and use my head as leverage to pull the hurt arm up till my shoulder finished snapping back into place. The cooling system was also the first culprit which caused it to dislocate, as I was holding it up to put into my window when my shoulder was initially injured. Luckily, my friend was there and she knew how to pop my shoulder back in for me. She has worked in the Heating and A/C industry for a while but was a paramedic before that, so she had to relocate a few body parts over the years for damaged people. So today I am just having a lazy day and icing it some, along with some over the counter pain meds and some Biofreeze gel. I assume I will be back on the job for my Heating and A/C supplier in about a week, although I don’t want to rush it so if it takes longer that is just fine. The last time I did this, it took about three weeks to heal to the point where I could work again without pain. I can’t blame the A/C component though, it was my own stupidity.
