I know a lot of people are not so lucky these days
I was not too happy the other day when my kids arrived home from school around lunch time. I was wondering what on earth was going on. So I asked them thinking maybe they decided to cut school or something. But in fact it was the school that sent them home. This was because the commercial heating and air conditioning system in the school had broke down and they needed to have a heating and air conditioning specialist come and fix it. They were not able to get the heating and cooling company to send a heating and air conditioning specialist out that same day, or the next day. So the kids ended up being off from school for a day and a half. This was ok with me because of the reason behind it. And I have to respect the school for taking action and sending the kids home rather than making them go to school in unfit temperature conditions in the building. It was rather cold out, and had they went to school with no heating, they would have for certain got sick. And that would have been doctors bills and weeks off from school right there. I guess I am blessed to have my kids in a great school that takes full charge when something like a heating and air conditioning emergency happens. I know a lot of people are not so lucky these days. My kids went back to school a day and a half later and had fully working central heating. All was well.
