The sound of my father yelling was drowned out by the A/C
We have a terribly loud air conditioner appliance in our house… When the air conditioner is operating, you can’t really hear much of anything… This is especially true if you happen to be sitting near an air vent or the air return.
Well, this past week, this turned into a large concern for us.
My father needed me to come and get something for him, however I couldn’t even hear him because of how loud the air conditioner appliance was. He got so angry at me, however I told him the reason that I couldn’t hear him was because of the air conditioner appliance. He said that I was ignoring him on purpose, which wasn’t the case in the least – at least that time, anyway. He said that I was simply making excuses and that there was no way that the air conditioner appliance could be that loud! I guess he had never been in my room before when the air conditioner appliance kicked on. I decided to do an experiment and I had him come to my room and sit on my bed. Then I went to the temperature control and turned on the air conditioner appliance. My father nearly jumped off the bed when the air conditioner appliance kicked on and the roar came flying out of the air vents. He finally heard how incredibly loud it sounded and he realized that he had been angry at me for nothing. Then the next afternoon he reached out to the Heating, Ventilation and A/C appliance supplier to have them come out and do an air conditioner service for us. He was saying that there was just no reason that our central air conditioner appliance should be making that much noise. I certainly hope they can come and service it and quieten it down for us!
