Candles make a mess of HVAC air filters

Most people in this country treat the day after Thanksgiving as the premier shopping day.

Well, that’s just not so in our house.

Once the turkey is put away, my daughters and my wife set about transforming the inside of our home. I am normally relegated to the basement or asked to just go be somewhere else. So, I steer clear of the girls and make sure to give them all the space they need to do their holiday decorating. Besides, I love going to the movies by myself anyway. In just that one day, the girls turn our house into a Christmas wonderland. I hate decorating but even I am blown away with what they do. There are always new decorations mixed in with the traditional stuff my wife has carried around since she was a kid. I make sure that I pick up a case of HVAC air filter on my way home from the movies. That seems rather weird I imagine. But, the big part of the decorations are the candles. There are candles everywhere and throughout the house. It’s almost like going back in time to some medieval cathedral or something. This is where the case of HVAC air filter comes into play. There are so many candles burning that I once wondered where all the burned wax ended up. I found out. It ended up on the air filter. I mean it completely sealed the air filter once. I was lucky it didn’t cause severe damage to the HVAC. Now, I change the air filter during the candle and holiday period at least once every week to 10 days.
