HVAC repair simply requires certified technician
There is no doubt that I will err on the side of saving money in most scenarios.
However, there are certain situation where that credo does not apply.
I don’t go to people unqualified or whom I don’t trust in matters of health. Same goes for the health of certain items that are fundamental to my wellbeing. A big one there is the HVAC system in my home. I have invested in that piece of equipment. The HVAC in my home, while not an entity, it is an important part of mine and my family’s life. That is why I have also invested in HVAC maintenance just as I have invested in preventive maintenance with my health. But, when my system does break down and I get ill, I only allow a fully qualified person work on me. The very same is true when it comes to an HVAC repair. The idea of having someone who claims to know how to repair an HVAC unit, but can’t prove it, is completely foreign to me. That would be like me going to the guy who works on my car to fix what’s wrong with me internally. No, HVAC repair is for those who have the extensive training, understanding and experience in all things heating & cooling. I realize that perhaps there is money to be saved by paying a guy who is a friend of a guy who once did something in HVAC. And heaven knows that I am all about saving money. But, there is smart and there is dumb. Dumb is allowing an unlicensed person repair the HVAC. Smart is picking up the phone and calling the professionals at the HVAC company to properly repair the HVAC.
