Can’t wait for the fireplace to die

My fireplace just won’t die on me.

I hated that heating system the moment I bought it.

The heater was just not powerful enough for my entire home. It doesn’t use ductwork to provide whole home temperature control. So the upstairs and the kitchen never get any heating. I had to buy another heater for the upper level and a ventless heater for the kitchen. The fireplace basically needs to provide heating in the living room and it can hardly do it. It frequently makes loud noises when running and takes forever to power off. Turning it off and on has now become a real pain. I have changed the batteries in the wireless remote and replaced the starter. The fireplace still would really like to turn on and stay that way. It will keep on heating and heating too. If the house temperature gets to be 80, the fireplace will still heat unless I tell it not to. The off button doesn’t always work. So anytime I turn the heater on, I run at risk of just having a heating system on forever. I frequently go without heating then just to be safe. Once the fireplace dies, I plan to get a boiler system and just have that heat the entire house. It connects to piping that can provide heating to the entire house. I would only need one heater this way. The upper floor heater and ventless heater could go the curb. A boiler can even be used to heat the home water if I wanted it to.
