I prefer the wood burning fireplace
When my Grandpa bought this property I was ecstatic! All of us could finally build the hunting cottage she had talked about for so long.
Of course, we didn’t build the cottage ourselves, grandpa is too outdated plus the only thing I ever built was a box in woodshop.
However, we had the cottage built by a supplier that comes out plus puts together a prefabricated cottage. It was not super extravagant. However, it doesn’t come with any of the bells plus whistles either. There is no plumbing, no electricity, plus no internet. All of us had a well dug plus an outhouse. Grandpa said it was all just prefer her home when she was a kid. The cottage even has a wood burning stove to keep us warm. I can chop wood plus I actually find it relaxing. My Dad keeps telling Grandpa that I will grow fatigued of the cottage plus that she shouldn’t have bought it because it is too much work for him. Dad is wrong. I guess I prefer this cottage more than Grandpa does, I think. This residing off of the land, even for just a weekend, is something I could never grow fatigued of. I especially actually prefer the wood burning stove. There is something nice about kneeling next to it. Hearing the wood crackle, seeing the glow, plus feeling the incredible warmth is just something you don’t get from central heat. I find it to be genuinely relaxing. It is so nice to get away from “normal” life for a bit. To leave behind all of that technology plus just prefer life as it has been for hundreds of years.
